How many rounds and games?
With an even number of teams n, a round robin takes n - 1 rounds of n / 2 games. With an odd number it takes n rounds, and one team sits out each round. The total number of games is n × (n - 1) / 2, so 8 teams play 28 games and 10 teams play 45.
For an odd number of teams see the round robin generator with byes. For pickleball or tennis doubles with changing partners use the pickleball round robin generator.
Questions
How does the round robin generator decide the order?
It uses the circle method, the standard way to build a round robin. Team 1 stays put and the others rotate one place each round. It always gives every pair exactly one meeting.
Can I print it?
Yes. Press Print for a clean sheet with every round and blank score boxes. The form and the rest of the page are left off.
Does it work in Excel or Google Sheets?
Download the CSV and open it in either one.
What does the share link contain?
Everything on the schedule: the event name, names of teams or players, dates, times and every round. It sits in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server, so we never see it. Anyone with the link sees the same schedule, even if they have their own saved settings.
